Frustration - but, progress nonetheless for Everton
A wave of disappointment swirled around the HDS @ 5 Bells on the weekend as Everton failed to hit the back of the net in what was a pretty decent performance. Beto - he’ll know best, should’ve netted at least twice, and that’s the main gripe coming from the fans. Everton need a proper No9, one who knows where the onion bag is and one who doesn’t miss. Post match, a number of fans were saying DCL would never have missed those gifts. Ok rant over!
Villa were always on the back foot, but this was an entertaining game, anxiety inducing due to the misses, but encouraging due to the real creativity and genuine talent working for each other from Everton fans’ perspectives. Grealish played really well despite the emotion of the afternoon and absolute rasper Villa fans who booed him. I’d never boo an ex Everton player and told the few twists by me who booed Digne and they soon shut up.

Big licks for Keano, he had a good game and on another day would’ve got two, Martinez’ save was the moment of the match, he saved Villa emphatically at that point.
It’s back to our first house next Saturday, and it’s gonna be tough. The RS are bouncing after yet another dying moment with a jammy pen. Will the Toffees be the first team to take points of these gobbles, let’s hope so, a point+ at our old ground will do wonders for confidence and would be a defining moment for the new blood.
A final word must go to Manchester, and the offering of our sincere condolences and love to your city on the tragic loss of the wonderful Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton. Truly a sad day for the boxing world, but one of real loss for Manchester and the North West. RIP Ricky, stay strong (as always) Manchester 💙⚽️
